This year I’ve been working on a number of small space renovations. Mainly these have been 2 bedroom apartments where the interiors were outdated both in terms of layout and design.
One of these projects has just recently concluded. This was a renovation where were addressed both the kitchen and bathroom taking everything back to basics and fitting them out with yo to date finishes. We took this opportunity to open up the lounge, dining and kitchen areas into one large space. By removing one wall between the kitchen and dining area, and blocking up the door into the kitchen from the hallway we were able to create a separate laundry to be accessed from the hallway as you walk into the apartment. We used some of this space and opened it up on the kitchen side for a large pantry which is a luxury in a kitchen of this size. This has now become a much more functional layout but also makes the apartment look so much more spacious.
We finished the existing timber floors, adding in new lighting and window coverings throughout and purchased furniture to fit the space. The whole apartment feels light and bright. My client was nervous about adding in the black accents but the finished result is stunning and the black really pulls the design together.
