How Concept to Creation Works
Project Planning
We begin by clarifying your wish-list, top-level budget, and timeline. We also guide you through what’s achievable, what constraints may exist, and what your specific design process looks like—covering any compliance requirements for your build.
This phase sets realistic expectations early and lays the groundwork for a well-informed, streamlined design process.
Initial Design Concepts
We guide you to the right design professional in our team for your project. The Designer begins by developing the initial design concepts for your home. Using a combination of sketches, 2D floor plans, and 3D renders, we bring your vision to life—giving you a clear sense of space, layout, and flow.
You’ll have the opportunity to review the concepts and provide feedback, allowing us to refine the design before moving forward.
Buildability & Estimates
At this stage, we assess the buildability and feasibility of your design—ensuring it aligns with your budget and approval requirements.
We tailor the next steps based on your priorities:
- If cost certainty is your priority, we can move into final costings, including all interior design selections, before submitting for approval.
- If speed is more important, we can proceed with approvals now and finalise interiors during the next stage.
Once you’re comfortable with both the design and budget, we proceed to next steps.
Interior Design Concepts
I’ll guide you through a tailored process to bring your interiors to life—selecting finishes, fixtures, and designing custom joinery to suit your lifestyle.
You’ll receive detailed plans for key spaces such as the kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, and any other areas needing design focus. This is your chance to shape your interiors to work with your lifestyle.
At this stage, we also update your cost estimate to reflect your interior selections, providing a complete and transparent budget overview before moving forward.
Budget Management & Final Estimate
With designs in place, we revisit your costs in collaboration with the builder. Your plans are returned to the estimator, and you receive a comprehensive, final cost estimate.
This is your opportunity to review the numbers and make any final adjustments—whether that means refining the scope, phasing elements of the build, or adding in the extras you’ve been considering.
By this stage, you’ll have a complete set of construction and interior plans—fully documented and ready for the build to begin.
Construction Commencement
With all documentation finalised in collaboration with your team, we now convert the plans into a detailed project schedule. Timelines are agreed, site setup begins, and any necessary arrangements—such as temporary accommodation—can be made.
We also liaise with neighbours where needed to ensure a smooth start to construction.
You’ll be assigned a dedicated project team, with clearly defined roles and responsibilities throughout the build.
Our communication is tailored to you—whether you prefer regular updates or a more hands-off approach, we adapt to your preferred level of involvement.
Construction Completion & Handover
We conduct a final site walkthrough and thorough quality checks with the entire team to ensure your design vision has been fully realised.
