Brief

My brief for this family home was to rework the ground floor plan to accomodate a seperate butlers pantry and laundry, plus a home office and offer more connection to the living space that originally was seperated by walls and double doors. We also reshaped the bathroom and updated the entry with practical storage. The aesthetic brief was modern with a classic twist.

Design

To address the brief we worked hard to create the zones our clients needed without having to add a larger footprint to the home as this would have pushed the budget. We reworked the right side of the ground floor to accomodate everything outside of the main living, dining and kitchen. This meant we could ‘hide’ the pantry and laundry behind joinery doors for a clean and seamless look. The colour palette included light oak floors, soft grey/greens and fresh white to create a calm balanced space. The feature screen offers some seperation to the living room whilst providing the connection my clients wanted for a more open plan space.
